This is Armour"s standard Crossbuck Double Dutch barn door. The name Crossbuck indicates an "x" design or fascia on each hinged stall door. These barn doors have been painted taupe, by the owner, to match the exterior of their horse barn. The opened top barn door panel interior has not been painted and is a smooth surface. This smooth surface interior deters horses from chewing or cribbing on the "x" fascia when the barn door top is in the closed position. All Dutch barn doors arrive assembled in two individual lumber panels which have been prepared with aluminum trim on four sides. These stall doors mount flush into the barn door opening and the hinges/latch attach directly to your exterior barn stall walls. *See Reversed Fascia*

This picture is an example of five consecutive standard barn Double Dutch Doors installed in a stucco/concrete stable exterior wall. Doors have been painted "positive & negative" colors to emphasize the barn doors' Crossbuck "x" fascia. These doors are 8"0" in height and 4'0" in width and split evenly in the center for an overall consistent barn appearance.

This barn door has been painted to match the white exterior of the owner's barn. No "positive" color has been added to emphasize the Crossbuck "x" fascia. As you can see in the picture, hinges and latches are mounted directly to the outside door opening. The door opening has been framed with 2x6 stained lumber.

Horses will enjoy the extra breeze and ability to browse pasture areas with Armour's Double Dutch barn doors. The raised Crossbuck "x" panel is on one side of the door to prevent cribbing and chewing while equines inhabit the stall area. Doors are not considered "pre-hung" yet "flush mount" in other words, these doors arrive as two individual panels without any superstructure framing. The Double Dutch barn doors come complete with lumber, four 6" T hinges and two 1/2" steel zinc plated slide bolt latches.

Armour's Crossbuck Double Dutch Doors arrive ready to apply paint or stain upon delivery. Continued applications paint or stain will provide the utmost protection and durability for these lumber barn doors.

When ordering Armour's Double Dutch Barn Door, "reversing the fascia" is a free option. When reversing the fascia, the Crossbuck "x" design appears only when the top of the door is in an open position. If you intend to leave the bottom of the door closed and the top of the door open for extended periods of time, reversing the fascia may be an appealing option, so the "x" is seen on the top and bottom, a majority of the time. Reverse fascia on the bottom is also an available upon request and is best, when equines are allowed the freedom to peruse their stall and pasture at their own leisure.

Smaller barn owners building for family equines often elect the most economical route, a Half Dutch Door. The Half Dutch is simply, half of a Double Dutch Door and arrives fully assembled with the same high quality materials. This is a picture of an unfinished two stall shed row barn with Half Dutch Crossbuck Doors. The doors have not yet been painted or stained and the barn roof has not been assembled, but as you can see the "x" design really stands out against the tongue and groove stall front wall. See Armour's stall front grilles.
